Privacy Policy

The short version: TermZ has no account, no telemetry, and your data stays on your device.

Last updated: July 7, 2026

The app

The TermZ desktop application requires no account and contains no telemetry, analytics, ads, or trackers. Your sessions, folders, tags, and credentials are stored locally on your device in an encrypted vault (SQLCipher, sealed with an Argon2id-derived key). None of it is transmitted to us — we never receive, see, or store it.

Cross-device sync (optional)

If you enable Sync, TermZ uploads an end-to-end encrypted snapshot to a storage bucket that you own and configure (e.g., your own Cloudflare R2). The data is encrypted on your device before it leaves, so your storage provider only ever sees ciphertext, and we are not involved in that transfer at all — there is no TermZ server in the loop.

The website (termz.app)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and installers are served from Cloudflare R2. Specifically:

  • No cookies are set by us. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.
  • No third-party advertising or tracking.
  • Cloudflare, as our host/CDN, may process standard request metadata (e.g., IP address, user agent) transiently for security and delivery, per Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • If privacy-friendly, cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, it records aggregate page metrics with no cross-site tracking and no personal profiles.

Your rights & contact

Because we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf — your data lives with you. Questions about privacy? Email [email protected].

Changes

We may update this policy as TermZ evolves (for example, if hosted services are added). Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
